In 1997, Robert Murphy and Peter McManus founded Murphy & McManus, LLC for the purpose of providing specialized real estate development services to not-for-profit clients. Bob, a CPA and former VP of Real Estate at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, could see the growing need within the medical community for expert real estate advisors to manage the development of the increasingly complex and expensive facilities required by modern medicine. For more than 15 years, Murphy & McManus has overseen the development of many large and small institutional projects, with particular emphasis on medical ambulatory, research laboratory and life sciences facilities.

With numerous in-house finance, architectural and engineering professionals, Murphy & McManus provides complete management of projects from inception to completion and occupancy. In addition to its project management expertise, Murphy & McManus also provides an in-house capability to provide off-balance-sheet financing for projects – an option that institutions are finding increasingly popular.
